Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane will hope for the club’s star midfielder Hlompho Kekana and his teammates to return injury-free, as the Chloorkop-based outfit plan to challenge for league honours this season.
Kekana is one of the influential players for Sundowns this season. The Zebediela-born player has been rewarded with a new deal by the club, as was revealed in issue 853 of Soccer-Laduma.
Kekana signed a new three-year contract with Sundowns, following negotiations that have been going on between parties since last year.
The player’s initial contract with the club was due to expire in June. Kekana is currently in camp with Bafana Bafana for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN).
Kekana’s teammate from Sundowns Jabulani Shongwe, who was also called up to Bafana, picked up an injury in a practice match against Milano United on Tuesday.
Shongwe is one of the Sundowns players also in line for a new deal at Chloorkop, as his contract is coming to an end in June.
