Former Kaizer Chiefs defender, Neil Tovey, has said that a win for Steve Komphela’s men against Highlands Park today will be important for the momentum of their league campaign.
Chiefs have yet to win any games so far this season, having last enjoyed a league win in April, and Tovey has said that even though tonight’s match has no particular significance, a positive result will be important for the team to gain momentum after their difficult start.
“Every game is important for Chiefs, but they need to kick start their season, which hasn’t happened,” he said.

The 1996 AFCON-winning captain went on to say that failing to win could cost the Amakhosi in the long-run in terms of their title prospects.
“It’s extremely important that the team starts getting going or otherwise they’ll get a little too far off the pace,” Tovey concluded.
