Nedbank To Have Ke Yona Team

For the first time in the history of the Nedbank Cup the tournament will have its own team that will play against the winners of the 2013 edition of the tournament.

The team will be selected randomly throughout the nine provinces through trials.

Nedbank's Sydney Mbele said that the players will be selected by South African football legends, who will also coach the selected players.

The players will be between the age of 18 to 35 years old and will go through a reality TV show where a team to play the Nedbank Cup winners will be selected at the end.

"We won't limit where the players come from, whether taxi drivers or spaza owners, young or old, who want to take part in these trials, (they) are welcome. We want to nature talent through this team and give opportunity to the players who didn't have the chance to play professional (football) to shine. We also want to give financial education to the players who will be selected. The Ke Yona team is one of it's kind and we want everyone to support them and the initiative," Mbele concluded.
