Free State Stars have signed former Kaizer Chiefs development player, Mncedisi Ndwandwe, as Steve Komphela adds to his defensive options for the 2013/14 season.
The left back, who was discovered through the Coca Cola Football Stars competition, is expected to compete for a place in Komphela’s team with Reuben Thebakang.
A source at the Bethlehem-based outfit confirmed to the Siya crew that the player has been added to the squad for the new season.
“There is a player by that name in the team. He has been with the team since the preseason. I believe that he is part of the team,” said the source.
Another source at Stars confirmed that Ndwandwe has been signed.
“The guy is trying his best at training. He has signed for the club. The team’s problem at the moment is with the defence. But Ndwandwe is adjusting well,” explained the source.
Ndwandwe played for Caps United in the SAFA Second Division.
