News coming out of Zimbabwe is that Tendai Ndoro, who won the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League top goal-scorer award, left yesterday for South Africa to link up with his new club, Mpumalanga Black Aces.
Ndoro, who was also selected among the 11 Soccer Stars of the Year, told News Day that he was set to leave for SA yesterday to sort out his future with Aces, but would return in time for the awards ceremony set for December 13.
“I should be leaving for South Africa today (Thursday) and hope to transfer this form to my new club. I am going to sort out my future with the club since my loan deal here has expired,” said Ndoro.
“We need to discuss a number of things pertaining to my contract, but I will be coming back to attend the Soccer Stars awards ceremony,” he added.
Ndoro signed for Aces at the beginning of the season but was loaned back to his Zimbabwean outfit, Chicken Inn, after AmaZayoni failed to get his papers for his international transfer clearance before the transfer deadline.
He scored 18 goals for Chicken Inn this season and thereby won the 2013 Golden Boot Award.
Ndoro said he was happy to win the top goal-scorer award and gave credit to his teammates at Chicken Inn.
“I had a very good season. I had set this target for myself. It needs a lot of hard work and I credit it to my teammates and all those who supported me,” concluded Ndoro.
