South African striker Dino Ndlovu made his comeback from injury last night, helping his club side, Maccabi Haifa, beat Hapoel Azur 4-0 in the Israeli State Cup.
The 22-year-old had been sidelined for a while due to a stress fracture that he picked up while playing for his club, which required surgery.
However, last night the Bafana Bafana international was back among the goals for his team, coming on from the bench to help spur his team on to victory and grabbing one of the goals.
The score was 1-0 to Haifa when Ndlovu was introduced with 35 minutes to go. He went on the grab their third as they sealed the victory in the last half an hour.
Following the victory Ndlovu told the Siya crew, “It was a really difficult journey for me to return from such a bad injury, but I knew that through hard work, dedication and with the support of my family, friends and teammates I could get back even better.
“The lay-off was taking it’s toll on me mentally, and had it not been for the people around me my recovery would not have been possible.”
Ndlovu will now be aiming to get his first start since his recovery when Haifa face his former side, Bnei Yehuda, on February 3.
