The Chairperson of the Referees’ Committee, Lucas Nhlapo, confirmed to the Siya crew that Sylvester Ndaba is helping referees with training sessions, in aim of helping them improve their standard of officiating.
According to Nhlapo, Ndaba, who is a former professional referee himself, will help the current professional referees improve their game.
“He is experienced and able to help in nurturing and moulding raw talent, something that should address the future of refereeing. We saw it fit to have him to help regarding proper training. He can impart his experience back to the game,” said Nhlapo.
Still with refereeing matters, Jerome Damon is still unavailable to conduct his fitness test that will allow him to officiate in the PSL this season.
The Siya crew has been told that the Cape Town-born official sent a medical certificate excusing himself from doing the test. It was the second time that the referee was unavailable for the test.
Damon is expected to be ready when he gets another chance to do his test, either later this month or in October.
