Golden Arrows are on verge of making their own history of finishing in the top three for the first time in the Premier Soccer league era.
Head coach Mandla Ncikazi says is proud of being chosen to be a leader of the current team.
"I'm a farm boy, I'm just proud to be part of the group of players that are doing well currently, it could've been any other coach," Ncikazi speaking with media in Durban.
"For me it is players who have created this platform and I happen to be a leader in this period. For me all credit should go to players and I'm following behind."
Ncikazi also addressed being doubted by many which is something that he says motivates him to work hard.
"I will always tell them that I will never be proud of an individual trophy won by me, but any trophy given by them to me, that's a trophy I will always celebrate.
"When you've never been proven, doubters which some are in this room, will always be there, especially if you've failed previously, because as a coach, irrespective of reasons you might give, at Maritzburg United was not a success period and now boss gives you a chance.
"If everyone likes you, you have a problem. If everybody hates you, you have a problem. You do need lots of people to like you and a few critics, and in my case, doubters makes me work (harder).
"I live in two mottos, areas of concerned and areas of influence. There are things I can change in life and I concentrate there and areas of concern - I'm dark and have big calves, I can't change that, so i don't focus on things i can't control."
