Cosmos Retain Second Spot, Kings Wallop TTM 5-1

National First Division Wrap

By Soccer Laduma - Dec 10, 2017 05:50 PM
National First Division promotion hopefuls, Highlands Park, maintained their four-point lead after a good 3-1 away victory over Mthatha Bucks, University of Pretoria kept up the pace by beating Cape Town All Stars 2-1, while Stellenbosch FC and Mbombela United played to a goalless draw.

In addition, there were significant wins for Real Kings FC, Super Eagles and Jomo Comos.

The Lions of the North, thanks to Mothobi Mvala, Peter Shalulile and Lindokuhle Mbatha, showed Bucks’ new head coach, Duncan Lechesa, who was best.

AmaTuks bounced back through successful efforts from Thabo Moseki and Grant Bruchhausen, which gives them a two-point cushion over Mbombela.

There were also no goals during the mid-table clash between Black Leopards and Witbank Spurs however, Kings moved into the top six following their 5-1 thrashing of Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC in KZN, where Nkosingiphile Phewa’s hat-trick and Phumelele Bhengu’s brace gave fans much to cheer about.

Richards Bay suffered their third loss in a row after Super Eagles’ Mokoena Modibedi netted the only goal of the game at Goble Park.

Ezenkosi, with goals from Mxolisi Macuphu and Onassis Mntambo, overpowered Royal Eagles 2-1 at Vosloorus, while Ubuntu Cape Town and Uthongathi FC drew 1-1 in Parow.

The Cane Cutters opened the score via Diyo Sibisi before Waseem Isaacs equalized to help his side move off the bottom of the table on goal difference.

Linda Mntambo looks like he is talking to the ball. If a re e me, e ya ema. If a re e ye kwana, e ya ya. His control of the ball is amazing. I don't know anyone is South Africa who does that.

Jomo Cosmos has the players to take the team to the promised land. Our fingers are kept crossed that nobody is sold in January. No team will stop us.
