In this week's edition of Soccer Laduma, issue number 867, Thanda Royal Zulu Assistant coach, Ronnie Moroka, opens up about his team’s great fight back. He also discusses the head coach, his input and the club’s chairman - with the NFD Focus brought to you by Lucky Star.
After Thanda Royal Zulu were deemed to beheaded out the National First Division at some stage, Ronnie Moroka and Thamie Ngubane turned the tides around to save the team from going down.
Asked how they came up with all remedies, Moroka said, “Thami’s a very knowledgeable young coach - very serious about his job but not the type that shouts and screams at players. He just tells the boys exactly what he wants to see happening, which includes being allowed to express themselves. His vision and philosophy, one that I also share, is clearly expressed and well understood. The atmosphere within the club is relaxed but business-like. He also came up with a strategy of developing the squad emotionally and spiritually by attending the Covenant Church.”
Regarding their unbeaten run of more than 10 games, he continued, “The spirit is great and we’ve just been on a 12 game unbeaten run. The players, who we as a technical team select, are not only technically gifted but, more than anything, have a strong will to succeed. The group we have fight from the first minute till the last whistle, so I can say they're both mentally and physically strong.”
