News reaching the Siya crew is that Ajax Cape Town duo, Granwald Scott and Bantu Mzwakali, will not form part of the squad that will face AmaZulu at Moses Mabhida Stadium tonight.
The Siya crew caught up with the Urban Warriors skipper, Dominic Isaacs, who revealed that their preparations were smooth inspite of losing the services of Scott and Mzwakali.
“Everything went well, we prepared normally for the game like any other. It’s just unfortunate to miss our two teammates, Mzwakali and Scott. We will miss their presence in the team but it’s an opportunity for other players to step up and deliver for the club. It’s not easy playing away games but we hope to settle for a point in tonight’s game. We cannot afford to drop points again. I can’t talk about an advantage of knowing coach Rosslee as he worked for Ajax, in football you can plan but things can change during the match, so we’ll just respect AmaZulu and try to do our best,” said the former Bloemfontein Celtic man.
Scott who has been in fine form for the Ikamva-based outfit, netted in four of his last five pre-season games - most recently hitting the back of the net against Pirates last week. On the other hand, Mzwakali pulled a muscle in training and misses the AmaZulu game.
However, the crew is informed that the return of Nazeer Allie and Abbubaker Mobara will boost the Urban Warriors ahead of the Usuthu clash.
The game is set to get underway at 19h30.
