Word reaching the Siya crew is that Orlando Pirates midfielder Sifiso Myeni started light training today, after recovering from his injury.
Myeni, who received a knock during Bucs’s CAF Champions League first leg semi-final clash against Esperance, missed Pirates’ game against Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Telkom Knockout last week.
“Sifiso Myeni started doing light training as he recovers from a groin strain,” read a statement on orlandopirates.com.
Myeni’s return to the Bucs squad will come as a major boost, with the club having defenders Patrick Phungwayo and Siyabonga Sangweni, as well as midfielder Thandani Ntshumayelo all out due to injury.
Phungwayo and Sangweni are apparently out for up to three months whilst Ntsumayelo is expected to return to action soon.
“Thandani Ntshumayelo will only later today receive the full prognosis of his injured foot,” read a statement on orlandopirates.com.
Pirates' next game is against Esperance of Tunisia in the second leg semi-final of the CAF Champions League on Saturday, 19 October.
