Despite media reports linking Zimbabwean international, Knowledge Musona, with a return to Kaizer Chiefs, both the player and his representative have now revealed that he wants to remain in Europe.
The 22-year-old Hoffenheim striker has had a tough time in Germany since leaving the Amakhosi two years ago, struggling to break into the side at both Hoffenheim and then his loan club, Augsberg.
However, the forward recently told the Siya crew that he was eager to stay in Europe and continue to improve himself as a player, a statement that his representative has now reiterated.
Mike Makaab, of Prosport International, told the crew that Musona’s first prize is to stay in Europe, but explained that nothing can be ruled out in football.
Makaab said, “It’s still early days. His ideal situation is to stay in Europe, but in football you can never write off any situation, we have to do what is best for the player and make sure we do what he wants.
“Our head of Europe is talking to Hoffenheim over the next week or so, Knowledge is in Zimbabwe at the moment and we’ll have to wait and see what transpires from the discussions with Hoffenheim.”
The Siya crew revealed back in April that Chiefs were actively pursuing Musona's signature as they look to bring him back, and it is believed that they remain eager for him to return to Naturena.
