Nyasha Mushekwi made up for his late return to Belgium with a hat-trick in a practice game for KV Oostende’s second team on Monday.
The Mamelodi Sundowns player, who is on loan at the Belgian outfit, scored three goals against Lokeren as his side won 4-0.
The Zimbabwean was one of the nine first team players used in the game in preparation of Oostende’s upcoming games.
It was earlier revealed by Soccer-Laduma that Mushekwi’s return to Belgium was delayed after the Zimbabwean was given a break for the international FIFA break earlier this month.
Oostende’s Team Manager, Rik Coucke, confirmed to the Siya crew that Mushekwi played and did well on Monday.
“He scored for our second team on Monday. He scored three times. It wasn’t for the first team. It was for the second team. The first team played on Saturday and he didn’t play in that game because he only arrived last week,” said Coucke.
