Murakami: I Miss South Africa!

Former Platinum Stars and Golden Arrows striker Norikazu Murakami could be making his way back to South Africa, having recently told Soccer-Laduma that he is looking for a new club.

The 31-year-old Murakami, who holds the record as the first ever Japanese player to ply his trade in the PSL when he signed for Dikwena back in 2009, has been playing his football for Alemannia Aachen in Germany’s third division. Although he did well during a trial stint in the Telkom Charity Cup soon after he arrived at Stars under the watchful eye of Steve Komphela, he never really lived up to his billing, but has not given up hope of playing his football in South Africa again.

He told the crew, “I miss South Africa. I’m not going to be staying at my club next season, so I’m looking for a club now. I will start looking this side and if I cannot find anything, I will come down there.”
