Muhsin Ertugral Wants To Take Ajax Cape Town Away From Relegation Struggle

By Soccer Laduma - Dec 22, 2017 05:04 PM

Newly appointed Ajax Cape Town head coach, Muhsin Ertugral has revealed his vision for the club in the second half of the 2017/18 season.

The Urban Warriors parted ways with Dutchman, Stanley Menzo yesterday, December 21, after management decided that a change to the team’s technical bench was the best solution to try and turn their misfortunes around.

Hours later, former Orlando Pirates mentor, Ertugral was appointed at the helm of the team, making his return to the club for the fourth time in his career as a head coach.

Speaking to the club’s official website, the Turkish-born head coach has revealed his plans for the team in the second half of the season which involves possibly strengthening the squad in the upcoming January transfer window.

“I have watched the team recently and believe that with one or two additions in critical positions, we will be able to find ourselves in a more respectable position on the log standings,” the 58-year-old said.

“There are many talented players in the team and I believe with the right guidance, I will be able to get the best out of them.”

“I would like to thank the Board of Ajax Cape Town for the opportunity to once again allow me to lead this great club and hope that I will be able to bring back a smile to our incredible and loyal supporters,” he added.

Muhsin is like a yoyo tjoo?He keeps on juggling from team to the next and when the going gets tough the he goes back to Turkey for personal reasons known to him and his family. I personal don't see him succeeding at Ajax Cape Town this time around but will wish him well

Mamelodi Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane is reportedly keen on signing want-away Ajax Cape Town marksman Prince Nxumalo. Despite being fit, Nxumalo has been used very sparingly this season by Ajax coach Stanley Menzo, who was sacked on Thursday. Menzo recently admitted that the striker had gone 'AWOL', with the player's agent also being quoted saying that Nxumalo wants to leave the Urban Warriors. The Brazilians meanwhile are a striker (or two) light, especially after Leonardo Castro left for Kaizer Chiefs last weekend. "Sundowns want to sign Nxumalo," claimed an iQhawe's source. "Sundowns boss Pitso Mosimane has already met with Nxumalo. He has made his intention very clear about working with him. "The boy also is keen on joining Sundowns. Ajax want a million so that they can release him. Bidvest Wits (are) also monitoring his situation." A R1million price tag would be very appealing to either Sundowns or Wits, both teams regularly spending far larger sums to bring in players. However, it will remain to be seen if newly-arrived Ajax coach Muhsin Ertugral is happy to allow Nxumalo to leave or if he has plans to bring him back into the squad. The striker's contract with the Cape side has another six months to run.
