Ajax Cape Town are currently preparing to once again take on Orlando Pirates, this time in the first round of the Nedbank Cup competition.
Head Coach Muhsin Ertugral’s side come out victorious in their previous encounter, where Ajax claimed a 3-0 league win over the Buccaneers at the Cape Town Stadium.
Now the two sides will once again lock horns this coming Saturday, as both sides look to challenge in the last domestic cup competition of the 2017/18 season.
Speaking at a Nedbank Cup pre-match press conference, Head Coach Ertugral says that he is expecting a different type of game against the Bucs this time around.
“Different game altogether. I can’t wait for kick-off at Orlando Stadium. I know how difficult it is for opposing teams to play in Soweto,” Ertugral was quoted saying on Ajax’s official Twitter account.
“Micho is a great coach and they are very close to success under his guidance. We know how difficult this game will be. They will come at us, but I think they’ll be a little bit more cautious this time around.”
The head coach then went on to explain that Yannick Zakri and Mosa Lebusa are both still recovering from their respective injuries, but is confident in the team’s other options.
“Unfortunately Yannick is still recovering from injury, but we have options.
“Lakay is very good going forward, Tendai is more a box player - we have Muzi who is close to starting and Sedwyn really showed a lot of desire this week.
“Mosa is very important. But he too is still recovering and we hope to have him back soon. Siboniso’s experience is vital to our squad. He is working hard, twice per day. I think by the end of the month he will be more than 100% but he is ready to play right now.
