Ertugral Gives More Than One Reason Why Ndoro Should Be Allowed To Play

Ajax Cape Town head coach, Muhsin Ertugral has opened up about the FIFA ruling on Tendai Ndoro, saying that the rules need to have more clarity.

The Urban Warriors brought forward an urgent application in the High Court earlier this month, for an interdict against Ndoro’s ineligibility to play, the matter which is now with FIFA.

However, speaking to the media on Monday, Ertugral opened up about the matter, questioning the protection of the FIFA rulings on players. The coach also adding that Ndoro, who he believes is not at fault, returned to South Africa after he wasn’t paid by the Saudi Arabian outfit, pointing out that it is one of the clauses in the regulations.

“It says very clearly over overlapping seasons, how much overlap? That is not been clarified and then it says, let me speak about players’ perspective. A player plays 12 minutes in South Africa, goes to Saudi Arabia, different continent, has not been paid and comes back to his country (of) origin where he played and now he wants to play and there is a clause in there which says overlapping season.

“In the end is it fair for a player to stay now six months out. What is it that these rules actually protect? So that is the question I am asking, in the end, everything is about the player and I think that clause there should be (a) little bit more clarified and I think that will be done by FIFA.

“Under one roof, that means three clubs under one roof (federation) should be not played and that clarified everything. He played under two clubs under one roof in my opinion, under one federation. That for me is very clear, two teams under one league (federation) and that should actually be the protection of the player. A player at that age and that situation, can’t be sitting out for the next six months because it is not his fault so that should be rectified a little bit more. For me, it was very clear that he should play. In the end, they said, you can use him, if I can use him I can use him so, unfortunately right now we will see how it goes,” he concluded.
