Platinum Stars striker, Siphelele Mthembu, should make his comeback for Dikwena when they take on AmaZulu tomorrow night.
The 26-year-old hasn’t featured for Allan Freese’s side since being substituted early on in the 3-0 win over SuperSport United on November 3, and has spent the last few weeks recovering from a calf injury.
In his absence, Henrico Botes has stepped up, scoring twice in his last three games, meaning that Mthembu won’t be able to walk straight back into Freese’s starting XI.
While the former Orlando Pirates man isn’t expected to start against AmaZulu tomorrow, is it assumed that he will take up a spot on the bench as the club look to ease him back into playing following his lay-off.
However, should Botes pick up a yellow card in the game with Usuthu then it will be his fourth of the season, earning him a one-game suspension, and Stars will be hoping to have Mthembu available should his fellow striker end up missing this weekend’s game against Golden Arrows.
