In an attempt to avoid relegation from the National First Division to the ABC Motsepe League at the end of the season, Mthatha Bucks have signed Petrus Ngebo and Philani Dlamini.
Ngebo is a well-travelled striker that has been on the books of Bloemfontein Celtic, SuperSport United, Free State Stars and Chippa United, among other clubs in his career.
He was last seen with Royal Eagles in the NFD, before his release from the club in January last year. Dlamini was previously with Eagles.
He has also been on the books of Chippa in his career. Bucks’ COO, Lunga Tukute, confirmed the signing of the two players by the Mthatha-based outfit.
“We have signed both Petrus Ngebo and Philani Dlamini. We have signed the two players this week. We should have finalised with them last week already, but you know how it is with the paperwork and things like that, the process took a little longer. It’s short-term deals for both players. We can’t sign players on long-term deals for now, until we settle our future in the league. Obviously, we have first option (for new contracts) with our players,” Tukute told the Siya crew.
Bucks have also recently signed former Kaizer Chiefs striker, David Radebe. Having won 3-0 against Milano United in their game last weekend, Amathol’amnyama have been preparing for Sunday afternoon’s game with Black Leopards at the Thohoyandou Stadium.
Bucks are 14th on the NFD log. The team is four points away from African Warriors and six points from bottom-placed Moroka Swallows.
