News reaching the Siya crew is that AmaZulu midfielder, Thokozani Mshengu, is training with the side’s development team, following his struggle to find a club this season.
Mshengu was deemed surplus to requirements in Craig Rosslee’s team at Usuthu at the end of last season.
“Mshengu has been demoted to the team’s juniors. He is training with the development team at the moment to keep fit,” a source close to AmaZulu revealed.
Mshengu’s career has been on a downward spiral over the last few seasons. The Howick-born player thought he had an opportunity to revive his career after signing a three-year deal with AmaZulu at the beginning of the 2012/13 season, but that was not to be.
The 27-year-old had previously played for Golden Arrows and Bloemfontein Celtic, before signing for AmaZulu.
Last year Mshengu had initially signed for Wits under the club’s former coach Roger de Sa, but The Students terminated his contract before having played in any official games for them.
