Former Orlando Pirates defender, Mpho Mvelase, looks set to continue his stay with Chippa United further than the 2016/17 season.
Having previously played for Chippa and left to join Pirates in January 2015, Mvelase returned to the Chilli Boys in January this year, after he failed to break into the star-studded Bucs’ squad.
Chippa confirmed that the player joined the club on a short-term deal when he returned to Port Elizabeth in January. The club announced that they had an option to extend the player’s stay.
The Chilli Boys have since confirmed that the player will be with the club again next season.
“He is now looking forward to life at Chippa United next season,” said Chippa about Mvelase on the club’s website.
The right-back says he has enjoyed reviving his career with the club.
“I look back on the last six months with (a) smile. I think they were the best of my football career if you look where I came from. I came following (a) difficult time in my life as a footballer. The reception from day one was good and it did not take me long to adapt having had a stint with the club in the past,” Mvelase told the club’s website.
