Makola Racing For Full Fitness Ahead Of Chippa Clash
Mpho Makola rushes to full fitness ahead of Chippa United clash
The Siya crew understands that Orlando Pirates are in a race to get one of their star midfielders fit ahead of Saturday's trip to Port Elizabeth to take on Chippa United.
Veteran midfielder Mpho Makola is hoping to make a return to the Bucs team following an injury he sustained in a league encounter against Ajax Cape Town at the end of January.
The club has since indicated that the 31-year-old was making good progress as he looks to recover from a back injury. The crew can confirm that Makola has been training with the rest of the players and could return to action as the Soweto giants aim to close the gap between themselves and log leaders, Mamelodi Sundowns.
“Mpho has made very good progress and he looks in training. He is currently doing full training with his teammates,” revealed the Siya source.
“He just wants to play and will be hoping that he makes the team for Saturday's clash,” added the source.
Pirates have slipped to third place and are now one point behind arch-rivals Kaizer Chiefs and six off the pace of leaders Sundowns.
The Buccaneers take on the Chilli Boys on Saturday 25 February 2018 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium, with the match scheduled to begin at 15h30.
