Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are still locked in talks regarding Katlego ‘Killer’ Mphela’s pending move to Naturena.
Chiefs recently confirmed that they had agreed a pre-contract with the former Bafana Bafana international, and that he would definitely be joining them in July.
However, the Amakhosi later went on to explained that they were hoping to agree terms with Sundowns regarding the player’s early release,
Mphela’s agent, Glyn Binkin, has since told the Siya crew that talks between the two clubs are still going on, but that for now, Mphela is still a Sundowns player.
Binkin said, “Chiefs and Sundowns are still in negotiations, I’m hoping that something can be sorted soon, but as of now, he is still contracted to Mamelodi Sundowns, and is available for selection in their team.”
Chiefs claimed a 1-0 win over Sundowns in last night’s PSL encounter, taking them eight points clear at the top of the league, and will now be hoping they can persuade their title rivals to allow Mphela to make his switch before the end of this month.
