Kaizer Chiefs’ new signing, Katlego Mphela, says that it feels ‘awesome’ to be part of the club, and is hoping to regain his place in Bafana Bafana.
Mphela, who has joined Chiefs on a six-month loan prior to his permanent switch in July, was introduced to the South African media today as a Glamour Boy for the first time, and explained that he is eager to revive his career.
Speaking at the press conference, Mphela said, “Thank you to the Kaizer Chiefs family for giving me this opportunity. It feels good to be part of Kaizer Chiefs. This move will revive my career & maybe play for Bafana Bafana.
"It was frustrating at Sundowns, I understood though, it was my time to leave. Feels awesome to be part of Kaizer Chiefs."
Mphela, who is Bafana’s joint third top goalscorer with 23 goals, will not be able to feature in the CAF Champions League until June after the club missed the registration deadline for the first round of games.
