Mphela Eyes First Chiefs Goal

Kaizer Chiefs striker, Katlego Mphela, believes his form is improving for Kaizer Chiefs and it could only be a matter of time before he scores his first goal.

The 29-year-old is yet to get off the mark at Naturena after eight league and cup appearances for the club. Nonetheless, the once prolific marksman feels confident he could return to scoring ways if he plays against his former club, SuperSport United.

The Glamour Boys take on Matstatsantsa in the quarterfinals of the Nedbank cup on Saturday (April 12). 'Killer' also told the club's official website that SuperSport were a far different team to the one he used to play for, yet Chiefs were determined to get a good result.

He said, "To be honest they have changed a lot since the time I played for them. Everything there has changed, the players and the coaching staff, all has changed. We want to go to the next round. We are preparing ourselves well. We know what we have to do on Saturday."

He added that he felt sure his goalscoring form would return soon, "I am getting stronger by each game. I think the chances that I have been given are working and it is just a matter of time before I score my first goal. I hope that will be sooner than later."

Saturday's cup clash gets underway from 15h00 at FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
