24-year-old Mozambican winger, Stelio ‘Telinho’ Marcelino Ernesto, has been linked with a move to the Premier Soccer League (PSL).
Telinho has been touted as the new Elias Pelembe, with the 24-year-old edging ahead of the Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder in the pecking order of Mozambique’s national team.
Having had a six month spell with Naval in Portugal’s Segunda Liga, Portugal’s second tier of football, the player has been described as a talented winger.
A source in Maputo explained that a PSL outfit has tabled an offer of R4 million for the player’s signature, although they were reluctant to divulge the team’s name.
“He will be coming to South Africa at the start of this season. There is a team that is looking for his services and I know the team but am not in a position to say it right now," said the source.
Asked about the player's move, his manager Felix Ngamanya Sapao, said that he cannot comment on the issue for the time being.
“I will be travelling to South Africa this week and that's when we can talk about it and not now. I will tell you all the details there,” the Malawi-based agent concluded.
