Kaizer Chiefs’ football manager, Bobby Motaung, has urged fans to be patient with regards to the club’s transfer dealings, insisting that the squad will be strengthened.
The Amakhosi have been linked with a number of new signings since being crowned the PSL and Nedbank Cup champions last month, although as of yet there has been no official confirmation of any potential arrivals.
However, with the CAF Champions League on the horizon next season, Motaung says that they will be adding to their outfit in the coming weeks.
He told the club’s official website, "That is a challenge that comes with winning; to try and stay at the top as long as you can. We will strengthen the squad without a doubt as we will also be playing in the CAF Champions League next season.
"We are bringing a centre back and a striker, including players from our Youth Academy who will be coming as back up. We will not be making too many changes to a team that won us a double. It is important that, whilst you bolster the squad with quality players, that you don't compromise the harmony in the team. We do not want to bring star players and for them to sit on the bench.”
Meanwhile, Motaung also asked fans of the club to be patient. He concluded, "We have been linked with quite a number of players in the media but we will make announcements in due course as a club on who is coming or going. We would like to urge the supporters to exercise patience and keep their eyes on club media platforms for updates on players movements.”
