Victor Moses kept his composure to fire Nigeria into the next round of the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations as they beat Ethiopia 2-0 in their final group game.
Nigeria's Super Eagles started well with Efe Ambrose going close before Moses' free-kick was deflected straight to the goalkeeper.
Ikechukwu Uche got through the defence in the fourth minute but the goalkeeper made the save at his feet.
Ethiopia worked their first chance in the 15th minute through Said Salahdin who fired a header wide on the counter.
Chances continued for Nigeria when Elderson Echiejile skied a shot over the crossbar while Said failed to connect with a shot in the 29th minute.
Chances were hard to come by at the start of the second-half but Nigeria's persistence would pay off when Moses was brought down in the area and he calmly slotted to the left of the goalkeeper.
Three minutes later Ethiopia were denied an equaliser by a brilliant save but Moses would make the result safe when he rounded Sesay Basa who brought him down - and resulted in the stopper being sent off for a second bookable offence. Moses again took responsibility and made no mistake to confirm Nigeria's place in the next round.
Standard Bank Moment of the Match: Victor Moses continued to plug away and finally broke the Ethiopia defence when he was hacked down. The Chelsea man then kept his composure to slot a vital penalty.
