Moroka Swallows coach, Zeca Marques, has dismissed reports that he is on his way out of the Birds nest, following a poor season that saw the Birds finishing 13th on the standings.
Several coaches have been linked with the Swallows coaching job, with former Belgium national team youth coach, Eric Abrams, and his assistant, Jelle van Camp, being the latest to be linked with a move to the Birds next season.
However, Marques is adamant that he will remain with Swallows next season.
“I’m staying put and I’m planning for next season,” Marques told the crew.
“I know that there has been speculation about my future, but as far as I know I will be the Swallows coach next season,” added Marques.
Swallows finished the season narrowly survived relegation last season and Marques said he was going to bolster the squad.
Meanwhile, Marques revealed that he had already identified the players he would like to come to Swallows and negotiations are currently taking place with those targeted players.
“Obviously, I can’t say anything now until everything has been concluded,” commented Marques.
