Kaizer Chiefs defender, Morgan Gould, faces the possibility of an exit from the club at the end of the current season, according to sources.
Defending league champions, Chiefs have yet to provide a clear indication regarding Gould’s future with the club. The defender’s current contract is set to expire in June and, it is believed that the club have been in no hurry to make a decision on their plans for the former SuperSport United player.
Although there has been no official word from the club about Gould and his contract situation, Siya sources have indicated that the player could be allowed to leave for a club of his choice at the end of the season.
Gould, who turns 33 today (Wednesday, March 23) has struggled for game-time, due to injuries that have hindered his progress, since joining Chiefs in 2012.
During his time with the club, the former Bafana Bafana man, has spent lengthier spells on the sidelines than he has on the pitch. He has had two serious Achilles tendon injuries in recent times, and the centre-back has made a mere two league starts for the Glamour Boys so far this season.
Newly-selected U23 man, Lorenzo Gordinho, has emerged as a first choice centre-back to partner Erick Mathoho in central defence for Chiefs, while Gould has spent majority of the time on the bench.
