New information has emerged regarding Andile Jali and his trouble with the law, while his strict bail conditions have also been confirmed.
Jali was arrested on Monday and spent the night at the police station, before being released on bail on Tuesday morning, after he appeared at the Hatfield Community Court.
The 28-year-old returned to training with Sundowns on Wednesday, as the team is preparing for the upcoming weekend’s crucial Telkom Knockout quarter-final match against Baroka FC, which is set for the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.
In a statement by the National Prosecuting Authority in Gauteng, it has been confirmed that Jali is out on R1500 bail.
Moreover, the football star is not allowed to visit his marital home, as one of the conditions of his bail, as confirmed in the statement by the NPA on Tuesday.
“Andile Jali, the footballer from Mamelodi Sundowns club, appeared in Hatfield court today. He was arrested yesterday after a feud with his wife,” read the NPA’s statement in part.
“I have preferred the charges of intimidation against the accused (section 72(1) (b) after consultation with Adv. Nel and agreeing that assault will not stand,” read the statement.
“He is alleged to have had come home late, started to shout at the wife who decided to go and sleep in the car to avoid him. He has been released on R1500 bail with conditions that he not return to the marital home. The investigating officer had already confirmed the alternative address. The case has been postponed to 5 December 2018 for further investigations. The witnesses’ statements are outstanding,” concluded the statement.
