Moon: Komphela Told Us The League Is Ours

By Soccer Laduma - Feb 18, 2018 11:59 AM

Ryan Moon continued his goalscoring form for Kaizer Chiefs by netting the winner against Cape Town City on Saturday evening.

Chiefs boosted their title ambitions with a 1-0 victory over Cape Town City at the FNB Stadium on Saturday evening, with Moon netting in the second half.

The Soweto giants sit four points behind Mamelodi Sundowns in second spot, and Moon insists there is still a long way to go in the title race.

“We just got to keep the momentum going. We did well in the last game, winning 3-0 (against Golden Arrows). So there’s nine games left now, lots of points to play for," Moon told SuperSport after the game.

“We just got to keep going there’s points to play for, we just got to keep going."

The Chiefs striker missed a number of chances on the day, which he laments, citing that he could have ended the evening with a treble to his name.

“I’m not happy about it. Could have had a hat-trick, not just two goals. I just have to keep working hard at training and rectifying the mistakes to bury the chances,” he said.

The presence of coach Steve Komphela has made them believe that the title is theirs to take this season, something they have taken in their grasp.

“We have got a good coach, who told us at the start of the season that the league is ours, we’ve got to fight for it. We are in with a chance now,” he said.

@khosiological look my friend,i don't expect u 2 agree with me.If u were watching the game u will notice that Castro & Ntshangase were struggling with those high balls. The balls were played from the back 2 the front, thats why Ntshangase was not effective & end up being substituted.I'm buccaneer but the truth is the way Chiefs is playing nowadays differs 4rom those of Khumalos & Khuses, witch is patience builds up while keeping the ball on the ground.

It's sad that no matter how good Chiefs can perform but they're guaranteed a choke and no silverware for as long Komphela is still at the helm.

@khosiological If chiefs wanted to win the league, they were suppose to beat sundowns..for me now it obvious Sundowns will win the league...none of the teams chasing them have a fixture left to play them...so you cant rely on other teams to stop them...
