Siya sources have revealed that Tebogo Monyai could be set to wear the captain’s armband for one more year if the University of Pretoria’s management have their way.
The crew had revealed that the veteran defender had considered hanging up his boots come the end of the current season with a possible management role earmarked, however sources have now revealed that Tuks management along with head coach, Sammy Troughton are persuading 35-year-old Tzaneen-born defender to remain playing for one more year.
Should the defender decide to remain a Tuks player, it will be his second short-term deal following the one-year contract he penned at the beginning of the season.
Monyai’s experience this season has been pivotal in the resurgence of AmaTuks who have won their last four matches. The veteran defender is expected to help his side attain a top eight finish as they are currently in ninth spot on the PSL table.
