It has been revealed to the Siya crew that Mondli Mpoto, a South African youth international, has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with an option at Siwelele, and will now begin his attempts to break into the first team at the club.
Mpoto was most recently contracted to SuperSport United and made a name for himself when he turned out at the U20 World Cup in 2017. Now, having battled to get past the likes of Ronwen Williams in Tshwane, he is trying his luck in the Free State.
The 20-year-old managed to organise a mutual termination of his Matsatsantsa contract in January, leaving him free to secure a move to Celtic without the binds of the transfer window, with his new employers managing to snap him up as a free transfer.
With Patrick Tignyemb the club’s undisputed number one, Mpoto will now be getting to work in order to get past the likes of Kabelo Dambe and Sipho Chaine in order to force his way into Lehlohonolo Seema’s plans in Bloemfontein.
