Moloi Released By City

The Siya crew can confirm that Polokwane City have released Botswana-born striker, Kekaetswe Moloi, who has failed to make an impression at 'Rise and Shine'.

The club's PRO, Patrick Baloyi, confirmed to the crew and said the player carried an injury and he hasn’t fully recovered, a situation that prompted the club to release him.

“The boy has had a long term injury and it took him something like eight months for him to recover and we decided it was best for us a club to release him. The fact that he has featured mostly for us, we decided to have a mutual agreement and release him. Upon arriving after the Christmas break with the same injury, we reached an agreement with him to part ways,” said Baloyi.

Although Moloi only played two games for the PSL rookies, Baloyi revealed to the crew that the former Mochudi Centre Chiefs player has gone back to Botswana.

“He went back to Botswana and at the moment we cannot tell you who we are going to sign but we will be playing a friendly against Orlando Pirates, and we will check which players we can introduce to our club,” added Baloyi.

Last Friday, City played to a 2-2 draw against the Democratic Republic of Congo at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, with goals courtesy of Esau Kanyenda and Thobani Mncwango. DRC is here to participate in Chan 2014 tournament currently underway in the country.
