The Chilli Boys managed to clinch a point off the Brazilians as they drew 0-0 at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
"I knew that they were going to play a false number nine. I knew it was a different ball game. Pitso wants to see himself topping the log. I'm very proud of my boys, we defended," Moloi told SuperSport after the game.
"I'll be honest with you the last 15 minutes of the first half you could see the experience of Mamelodi Sundowns playing in the continent. But I must give it [credit] to my boys.
"One positive that I have from today, we had chances, just like against Free State Stars [on Wednesday]. We had chances to wrap up the game. Where you smash and grab, shut your door and snatch the three points. But it was a beautiful game and the boys played very well.
"It's very difficult to defend against a false nine because everybody is running everywhere. Once you leave your man you find yourself in sixes and nine. At halftime I told them: "guys you have to focus, you don't have to crack". You saw Sundowns never cracked hey. You could see the experience they are coming with.
"My boys in the second half, mental strength, discipline, focus they did the job. So out of 10, I give them 10. I'm happy with the point even though here at home my motto is three points. I'll take the point because these are the the African champions."
