Polokwane City will face Moroka Swallows next Wednesday and the Siya crew had a chat with the 'Rise and Shine' defender, Tlou Molekwane.
The former Kaizer Chiefs juniors defender said playing against the Dube Birds means they’ll have to up their game as they aim to improve their chances of staying in the PSL.
“We’ve had enough time to prepare for this encounter as we last played our game against Aces last Sunday. We’ll do everything to get maximum points against Swallows as we did very well against Aces. We respond very well to the coaches’ instructions although he hasn’t changed much but worked on our confidence. We’re getting along with him and we hope to keep working hard and getting the results for the club. There’s a common understanding between us,” said the Polokwane-born defender.
Asked about how he sees the season so far, Molekwane said they’re settling down and getting used to the stage.
“I think our problem in the first few games was the fact that most of our guys are inexperienced in the PSL but we are getting better. The pressure has been lifted off from our shoulders and we can compete. Coming to our game against Swallows, we’ll just play our normal game, we’ll treat them like any team we come up against. For the past three games, our plan was the same, we went all out to get points, we collected six points out of nine, so it’s not bad. We mustn’t put ourselves under pressure, there’s nothing new or special about this Swallows game,” added Molekwane.
Although City’s Sifiso Mbhele has now started jogging as he was out with a knee injury about a month ago, it’s not yet clear whether he will be available for selection against the Dube Birds.
