Amajimbos Coach Hails Lesotho Tournament
Molefi Ntseki Praises Lesotho Tournament
The South African men’s U17 national coach Molefi Ntseki has hailed the Lesotho tournament which allowed him to field a select U17 side comprising of two teams to compete against the host nation.
As reported by the Siya crew, Ntseki's side was invited by the Lesotho Football Association to participate in what was originally a four nations tournament. However, when two African nations pulled out, South Africa was then allowed to send two teams; South Africa A and South Africa B to compete against Lesotho’s respective teams.
In what was a hotly contested affair, where both South African teams performed well.
“This tournament was great for us as it allowed to take a bigger pool of players then what we would normally take for a tournament,” Molefi told Soccer Laduma.
“Most of these players are predominantly school going players so it’s vital that we use every opportunity to expose them to playing international football as often as possible. This tournament served its purpose in helping us do just that and we are grateful the Lesotho FA in inviting us over to compete,” added the Amajimbos mentor.
The South African juniors returned back home this past Sunday and will be preparing to go into camp again in early January 2018.
