Wits ousted Kaizer Chiefs from the Telkom Knocout late last year and on Monday the two PSL outfits were drawn against each other in the round of Last 32, in this season’s edition of the Nedbank Cup.
The Braamfontein-based side will host the Soweto giants for the clash and The Students’ general manager, George Mogotsi, said that although they knocked Chiefs out of the TKO, this game will be a different affair all together.
Mogotsi said that cup football is always challenging and that the team will need to go into the tie focused, if they are to overcome their visitors.
"We have a number of former Kaizer Chiefs players and they always enjoy playing against their former team. We just have to work hard like we did in the other cup. It will be difficult just like all cup games, but there should be a winner at the end of the day and looking at our team, I think we will be winners on the day," Mogotsi said.
The Students defeated Chiefs 3-2 in the TKO, on October 19, at the Bidvest Stadium, however they were eliminated in the next round by Free State Stars.
