Following their win against AmaZulu on Saturday afternoon, University of Pretoria is now focusing on their game against Free State Stars on Wednesday night.
Bafana Bafana defender, Buhle Mkhwanazi, told the Siya crew that even if they have won against Usuthu, they still have to work hard and get maximum points on Wednesday. The Pretoria-based outfit are currently placed on position 14 on the PSL standings after 11 games with 11 points.
The former Mamelodi Sundowns juniors defender revealed that the mood is high in the camp and their mission is to focus on winning again and improve their position on the log urgently.
“We’ve lost three games in a row and it was a matter of do or die for us on Saturday. We just had to win that game and boost our confidence. The coach made it clear that it’s the first time for us to lose three in a row and in order to improve our table standings, we must win against AmaZulu. He told us it was up to us as players to come to the party and play well.
“We’ll approach the game with a positive mentality, there’s nothing special or new but to fight and work harder. We will go to meet Stars using the same tactics but we need to adjust our attitude and have a winning attitude, we just need to keep going. There’s no secret or special technique, we just have to work hard and give it our best shot,” said the Bloemfontein-born defender.
The Bethlehem-based Stars are without a coach following the recent sacking of Steve Komphela after a poor string of results. Ea Lla Koto are currently lying 11 on the table with 12 points from 12 games.
