Word reaching the Siya crew is that former Moroka Swallows defender, Lizo Mjempu and former SuperSport United midfielder, Mark Haskins, could join Polokwane City.
Following their 2-1 loss in a friendly against Orlando Pirates and a 1-1 draw against United FC yesterday, Polokwane City coach, Boebie Solomons, has revealed that he is adamant his team is on the right track as he has seen major changes and positives from the games.
“Friendlies like these help us in trying to improve on being comfortable on the ball and being able to keep position and have good shape. If we continue like this, we will surely play better football. We want to prepare for our first game that takes place on the fourth of February against Platinum Stars. I’m impressed with our preparations so far and my mission is to start well against Stars at home. I have youngsters that I want to look at for the next season, that’s for the future and I can’t reveal names at moment,” said Solomons.
As previously reported by the Siya crew, former Moroka Swallows defender, Lizo Mjempu and former SuperSport United midfielder, Mark Haskins, also turned out for Solomons’ side in the same game.
The crew contacted the club’s PRO, Patrick Baloyi, who says the coach will be the one who has a final say regarding the two players.
“The players played in our friendly games yesterday but the coach will come back to the management and recommend them but we will make an announcement in the next 48-hours. Obviously, we played quality teams so the coach would like to see more of them but we also had players from Vodacom and National First Division who attended trials,” said Baloyi.
The Siya crew will continue to monitor the situation and confirm update on the duo's future.
