Coach Micho Praises Pirates’ “Four Pillars”
Milutin Sredojevic Has Commented On Orlando Pirates 2017/18 Campaign
Orlando Pirates head coach, Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic, has hailed the four pillars that he believes made the team tick this season.
The Buccaneers have claimed second placed position on the Absa Premiership league standings, booking their spot in the CAF Champions League next season.
This is seen as a huge improvement following their disappointing run in the 2016/17 campaign, before Head Coach Sredojevic took over the helm.
“First of all, I need to thank our chairman as a leader and management that they have provided us conditions from the point where we had all (the) necessary conditions to work very hard. (The) technical team that we have (has) come together - (the) players, they have worked extremely hard and they have really stretched themselves and all of us, sleepless nights and hard working days,” Head Coach Micho said after their 1-0 loss to Cape Town City on the weekend.
“We believe that this is normal and we have not done anything special, we believe that this is the standard that is supposed to be Orlando Pirates’ identity and presentation in the best possible way. In a conclusion I want to thank the supporters they have been with us, they have been our player number 12 throughout the season.”
“Four crucial pillars, our management, our technical team, our producers of performances - the players, I really need to praise them, they have really respected the badge, respected the jersey and given their best and of course supporters they have been that driving force and we felt their prayers and their support throughout the season, they have helped us,” he added.
