Milton Signs For Polokwane City

Former Free State Stars' Brazilian goalkeeper coach, Milton Nienov, has been snapped up by Polokwane City, where he joins his compatriot, Eduardo Langer Schoeler, the club’s fitness trainer.
The pair have worked together over the years in Brazil, especially at Figueirense, and ironically it was Nienov who organised his friend the Polokwane post last season, before Schoeler did the same this week.
“I’ve just signed a one-year contract,” he told Soccer Laduma. “I’m happy to be back in SA working together with Eduardo (Schoeler). My objective is to see Rise and Shine qualify for the Top 8. I’ll do my best to contribute to this achievement.”
Nienov is still very proud of how he managed to mould Zambian international, Kennedy Mweene, at Stars, and is looking forward to doing the same with veteran 38-year-old Modiri Maruma, who kept his club in the PSL with some daring saves during the PSL promotion/relegation play-offs.
“I’ll never forget Mweene going over 720 minutes without conceding a goal. Marumo too has all the characteristics of a great keeper. He has a good physique, is tall, slim so I’m confident that I’ll get him to a higher level of fitness,” he concluded.
