Nigeria surprised everyone including their own supporters when they beat Africa Cup of Nations favourites, Ivory Coast, to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
Later today Nigeria take on Mali at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban, as they look to book their place in the final and midfielder John Obi Mikel told the Siya crew that they are one step away from the final, and won’t stop now.
He admits that Mali will be a tough outfit to overcome, however he is confident that they will progress from the semi-final tie.
“My friend, we are just a step away from the final and the only team standing in our way is Mali, therefore we have to beat Mali to reach the final. All teams in the tournament have been tough.
“From Ethiopia until Ivory Coast, we have been playing hard games. We just have to finish off today. Mali are ranked third in Africa and Ivory Coast are ranked number one. We won that game, we can win again tonight,” the Chelsea midfielder concluded.
