Free State Stars chairman, Mike Mokoena, is confident that the team will be able to carry on with their Absa Premiership campaign without hindrances, despite the injury setback to some of the key players for Giovanni Solinas’ side.

Stars have been dealt a major blow with injuries to both their key strikers in Andrea Fileccia and Moeketsi Sekola.
Fileccia has been ruled out for the season, after picking up a serious knee injury in the Free State derby against Bloemfontein Celtic last weekend.
Sekola is likely to be out for four to six weeks, owing to a hamstring tear he suffered during the same game.
While Stars general manager Rantsi Mokoena has indicated that the club has been assessing its options, with a view to bring players as replacements for Fileccia and Sekola in the interim, his father believes that the setback will give Sthembiso Ngcobo and Sydney Masana an opportunity to shine.

However, Mokoena admitted that he is saddened by the injuries to the key members of the team.
