'Abraw & Manqele Need More Game-Time Together'

Kaizer Chiefs legend, Mike Mangena, reckons that Amakhosi's new strike partners, Camaldine Abraw and Edward Manqele, need some time together to gel.

Manqele and Abraw have started alongside one another in Chiefs’ last two games and many in the football fraternity are already starting to talk up their blossoming partnership.

'Sporo' believes that the pair need to be given some time to understand one another before they are able to become a potent strike pairing.

“I’ve seen the best players in the world struggling to combine. You need to be able to read the other one’s movements. It’s all about understanding the other player’s strengths and weaknesses,” Mangena told Soccer Laduma.

“It’s good for Steve Komphela because, if the two strikers can understand each other well, they will create so much space for the other players that come from the middle and the wide positions.

“Their movement is key! If they don’t understand each other, they’ll have a problem because they’ll find themselves playing in front of the opposition defenders because the strikers are not able to take the defenders away.

“They need more game time together and also to play together at training. That’ll help the team and will help them understand one another better.”
