The agent of Maritzburg United head coach, Ernst Middendorp, has confirmed that he’s in advanced discussions with the club over the extension of the coach’s contract.
Middendorp helped lead The Team of Choice to their highest ever league PSL finish this season, guiding them to 11th place on the log.
However, with the German’s contract set to expire this month, the Siya crew previously reported that the coach had not been offered a new contract as yet, but that talks were ongoing.
His agent, Steve Kapeluschnik, has now confirmed that talks are at an advanced stage and that the matter should be settled in the near future.
Kapeluschnik told the crew, “We’re in advanced negotiations with Maritzburg United around the extension of Ernst Middendorps’s contract. He’s currently in Europe at present, but I can confirm that negotiations are at an advanced stage.”
Middendorp is said to be keen on staying in Pietermaritzburg next season and it is expected that he will sign a new deal soon.
