Maritzburg United coach Ernst Middendorp believes that Kaizer Chiefs fully deserved their 2-0 win over his side on Saturday night.
The Team of Choice were chasing the game for the most part, though they did create a few good chances to find their way back into the clash.
Middendorp admits that there were some moments of hope, but in the end feels that their opponents deserved the spoils.
"I think a fully deserved win for Kaizer Chiefs - congratulations. I thought we had a moment where we were coming in before we conceded the second goal. There was a bit of hope but not more.
"It's just a very clear game, from what we have seen with a 2-0. I think it was a good performance from our goalkeeper, it was only 2-0 and that is fine.
"We have to get ready for the next game on Wednesday, a home game, and look to get points."
Asked about the removal of Dillon Sheppard, he said that he knows the player is not at his best at present.
"Dillon is in the moment not in a direction that he should be. For him some completely unusual passes into the legs of the opponent, but at the moment we know he is not at his best. We have to sort it out and I hope he will come back into it."
