As reported in edition 868, it seems Maritzburg United could be targetting Polokwane City's Moffat Mdluli as a potential replacement for the departing Michael Morton.
Specialist holding midfielder, Morton, signed a pre-contract agreement with SuperSport United and will be joining Matsatsantsa when his current deal with Maritzburg expires in June.
The Team of Choice have since made it clear they are searching for a replacement for Morton in central midfield, and reliable sources have now linked Mdluli with a move to Pietermaritzburg.
The 24-year-old has caught the eye at times during his spell with City, where he is on loan from SuperSport United. The defensive midfielder has been a regular for Boebie Solomon's team, and a move to United could be a good move for his career.
Mdluli's agent, Ratshibvumo Mulovhedzi, confirmed that he was in talks with some unnamed clubs about the player's availability. He said, "All I can confirm is that there is a PSL team that I am currently talking to about Mdluli and they are serious about signing him at the end of the season."
The crew will monitor developments.
